Borderline is an interactive installation based on Camiel Zwart’s movie with the same name, about a girl who suffers from Borderline syndrome. NFTA students Anne Gentenaar and Neda Gueorguieva took the initiative to make the film into an interactive installation.
Technical Details.
A room is built, made of 3 large walls that are back-projected with video controlled from a computer. Inside the room various objects have sensors in them, allowing the visitor to interact with the movie by picking up items. An overhead camera tracks the visitor so that he can interact with the story by walking around. I programmed the software that read the sensors, controlled the story on the 3 screens, and started surround sounds from another computer, as well as technically coaching the project.
