Truth or Dare

Truth or Dare (Jamby)

In 2001 Adam Curry’s company Jamby launched a rather daring project, a broadband entertainment portal called Truth or Dare. At that time only few people had a broadband connection.

The portal consisted of five programs, ranging from a detective show where reporters went undercover to expose anything fake in the tv industry to a show where you could choose which kind of food you’d like to see rotting away in realtime on webcam.

The site employed all the latest technologies of the time (Quicktime, Flash, Director). I programmed the front end that combined the 5 shows and I did 3 of the 5 shows, and was technical liaison for the parties developing the other 2 shows.

The project was delivered on time and had over 40000 visitors on the launch day.

Technologies used: Flash, Director, Quicktime, PHP, MySQL, WebDAV.

this was my first big job and I can’t find more material about it, if you have any images or footage, I would be extremely interested. Please contact me : jilt (at) robotfunk (dot) com
