Short version: Yes.
If your LCD won't support 4bit, you can use other pins with Wilba's 8bit driver... but the CAN buss pins need to be free.

just for the sake of it used your pdf to build the s1 caps version, looks good too and no need to move the labels around but...
The hard way seems to be way harder than I thought (custom panel, pcb/panel gap, third hole on the switches, led wiring, etc... -

I laid out about half of the layout by hand, but interconnections between the two controllers got way complicated due to the limited space.
The auto-router produces ugly results, but at least a working one in this case. -

I'd never test mains voltage with one of those hobbyist multimeters.
I would only trust an electricians multimeter,
which have much thicker probes and much higher voltage rating.
I remember my first time testing the 12v AC pins of my psu, and a smell ... -

Its disabled by default in SMF.
Its kind of a tease to have the button there but not been able to use the feature!
